About
Manasota Beach Club is a historic resort on Manasota Key, a barrier island in Southwest Florida located between Tampa and Fort Myers. The property has been family-owned and operated by the Buffum family since 1960. Originally built in the early 1900s as Palm Ridge Lodge, it was renamed Manasota Beach Club in 1960. Both the Clubhouse and the land are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The resort offers unique charm cottage accommodations with Gulf views, a private beach known for shells and fossilized shark teeth, and various recreational activities. Following significant storm damage in 2024, the property is undergoing restoration efforts with limited cottages available while recovery continues.
